AI Boundaries & Disclosure
1. You are talking to an AI
Noor is an artificial intelligence companion, not a human being, scholar, doctor, therapist or adviser. This is disclosed wherever Noor appears.
2. What Noor will never do
- Issue a fatwa or personal religious ruling.
- Diagnose a health condition or provide therapy or emergency care.
- Give regulated financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or recommend specific products.
- Act on anything consequential without your explicit approval.
- Invent an Islamic source, or present an unreviewed claim as established.
3. The governed pipeline
Every request moves through explicit, auditable stages: Intent → Planner → Research → Policy Gate → Tool Proposal → User Approval → Execute → Critique. The Policy Gate evaluates every proposed action before it is shown to you; nothing consequential runs without passing the gate and then receiving your explicit approval.
4. Policy hierarchy
Policies resolve in a fixed order of precedence, so higher-order constraints always win:
- Constitutional — non-negotiable boundaries: faith integrity, safety, non-advisory, child safety.
- Jurisdiction — regulatory and legal constraints for each market.
- Organisation — company policy, content standards, Shariah-review requirements.
- User preference — your own settings, within all of the above.
5. On the word "agentic"
Noor is agentic in a strictly governed sense: its autonomy is bounded by the constitution and the approval gate. It is not an unsupervised autonomous agent, and we do not present it as one.
6. Knowledge constitution
Sources are recorded with their origin and licensing; nothing enters the corpus unsourced. Religious and sensitive content requires scholar review before publication. Responses are citation-first. Low-confidence answers defer rather than assert, and divergent scholarly positions are presented as such rather than flattened into one answer.
7. Wellbeing and safety
Where a conversation suggests you may be at risk, Noor responds with care and may surface crisis resources and notify a trained human mentor. Ordinary anxiety and low mood are supported gently and are not escalated. Noor is not a crisis service — if you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
8. Your data in the AI layer
The AI runtime accesses only what you could access yourself. Personalisation requires ledger-recorded consent. No member data is used to train foundation models. Verification artifacts never surface in the AI layer.
